A cleaner line for the bathroom

Morvah strips a wall light back to its simplest parts: a straight arm reaching out from a round wall plate to hold a plain glass cylinder over the bulb. There is no ornament here, just clean lines and a seeded, bubbled glass texture that catches the light from within, giving the fitting an easy, unfussy character next to a mirror or basin.

Brushed brass finish

In Brushed Brass, the arm, holder and wall plate all share a warm, satin finish rather than a high shine, so the metalwork reads as understated rather than showy. The seeded glass shade sits against it with a slightly frosted, hand blown look, breaking up the bulb's glow instead of showing it as a single bright point.

How it works

The arm can be fitted so the shade points up or down, depending on the effect you want and the space you're working with. It takes a single E27 bulb, and an Edison style LED filament bulb suits the open glass particularly well, letting the filament show through the seeded texture. Fit a dimmable bulb and the light will respond to a dimmer switch. As a Class I fitting, it must be properly earthed, and we recommend a qualified electrician carries out the installation.

Where it works best

Morvah is IP44 rated, so it's built to cope with the steam and splashes of a bathroom, whether that's a single fitting beside a mirror or a pair either side of it. Does the Morvah wall light come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 bulb, and we recommend an LED filament style bulb to suit the open seeded glass, but the bulb itself is not included.

Can the shade be fitted facing up or down? Yes. The arm can be fitted either way round, so you can choose whether the open end of the glass shade points up or down depending on the effect you want.
