A gentler curve for a low ceiling

Semi flush fittings usually keep their frame plain and let the shade do the work, but the Falmouth adds a looped, hourglass shaped support that narrows to a slim waist before opening into the shade below. In French Gold, the metalwork catches the light along every curve, giving the fitting some presence even before it's switched on.

French Gold and white

The frame is mild steel plated in French Gold, a warm, slightly antiqued gold rather than a bright brass, polished to a high shine that shows clearly in the loops and the ceiling plate. Underneath sits a plain white fabric drum shade, deep enough to fully enclose the three lamps inside it, with a glint of gold visible at the narrow gap where the frame meets the fabric.

How It Works

Three G9 lamp holders sit inside the drum shade, angled so the light spreads sideways and upward through the white fabric rather than shining straight down as a spotlight would. That gives a soft, even wash across the ceiling and upper walls, which suits a small room better than a single downward facing source.

Where It Works Best

Because the whole fitting sits close to the ceiling rather than dropping down on a chain, it works well wherever headroom is tight, bathrooms with a standard ceiling height in particular. Does the Falmouth come with bulbs? No. It takes three G9 lamps, ideally a 3W LED, which aren't included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature you prefer.

Is the Falmouth suitable for a bathroom? Yes. It's rated IP44, which covers the zones in a bathroom that call for this level of protection, and it uses enclosed G9 lamps rather than an open bulb.

Is the Falmouth dimmable? Yes, as long as it's fitted with dimmable G9 LED bulbs. Standard non dimmable bulbs will only run at full brightness.
