A wash of light along the wall

Two opal glass shades sit back to back off a central polished brass bracket, so instead of throwing light from a single point the Eliot two light spreads its glow sideways along the wall. It reads more like a piece of bathroom hardware than a light fitting, with a bow shaped centre bracket holding both shades level.

The fitting is aluminium finished in polished brass, buffed to a proper high shine rather than a softer patina. The brass is most visible at the round wall plate and the ribbed collars at each end of the two shades, and again in the shaped centre bracket, which gives the join between the two arms a bit of jewellery like detail rather than a plain fixing.

How It Works

Two G9 lamp holders sit one in each opal glass shade, each suited to a 3W LED G9 bulb (not supplied), so light spreads out along the wall rather than concentrating in one spot. That makes it well suited either side of a mirror or above a run of vanity units. It's dimmable if fitted with dimmable bulbs, and the central bracket holds both shades level with no adjustment needed.

Where It Works Best

At 47cm end to end but only 9.5cm tall, this is a fitting for horizontal runs: over a double basin, along the top of a long mirror, or anywhere a single sconce would leave one side of the room dimmer than the other.
