Dryden's glass shade flares outward like a small trumpet rather than sitting flat like a plain globe or drum, and its fine vertical ribs catch the light in bands instead of showing one bright bulb shape. Set on a slender tapering column, it has a more formal, architectural look than most bathroom wall lights.

Polished brass finish

The column, wall plate and shade collar are finished in a bright, mirror polished brass over an aluminium base, giving the fitting a strong reflective shine without the weight of solid metal. The clear ribbed shade sits proud on top rather than concealing the fitting beneath it, so the glass and the brass finish are both on show together, and the oval wall plate keeps the fixing itself understated. The same fluted torch shade sits alongside a rounder globe design and a taller cylindrical shade elsewhere in the Dryden range, all sharing this brass finish, so you can mix silhouettes while keeping the metal consistent.

How It Works

A single G9 bulb sits inside the flared shade. Because the glass is clear rather than frosted or opal, more of the light passes straight through it, and the vertical ribs break that light into distinct bands rather than one flat patch. Fit a dimmable G9 bulb and the light can be brought down for evening use; the bulb itself isn't included, so you can choose the warmth and dimmability that suits the room.

Where It Works Best

It suits bathroom vanity lighting well, either as a single fitting above a basin or mirror, or in a pair flanking a mirror for more even, shadow free light while shaving or applying makeup.
