Even light, cast from both sides

Two angled opal glass shades reach outward from a single round backplate on the Bowtie, throwing light from either side of a mirror instead of down from above. Set as a solo fitting beside a bathroom cabinet, or as a pair either side of a wider mirror, the shape does a genuinely useful job: it lights a face evenly, without the harsh shadows a single downlight can leave under the chin.

A single matte black line

The whole fitting reads as one continuous piece rather than two lights joined together. A slim horizontal bar in matte black steel runs straight through the round backplate to each shade, and the trapezoid opal glass shades taper to the same point at top and bottom, so the finish and the shape both carry through without a break.

How It Works

Each side takes its own G9 bulb, up to 3W LED, giving around 300 lumens at a CRI of 80 and a warm 3000K colour temperature. Bulbs aren't supplied, so you'll need two before fitting. The fitting is wired to Class I standards and should be installed by a qualified electrician. Fit dimmable G9 bulbs and the light will respond to a dimmer switch if you want to bring the level down.

Where It Works Best

Bowtie is designed with a spot above a bathroom mirror in mind, spreading light evenly across the width of a vanity rather than pooling it in the middle. It works just as well either side of a hallway or bedroom mirror, or anywhere you want a horizontal accent rather than a single point of light.
