An old bathroom shape, cast in bright chrome
Blake keeps the swan neck arm and flared glass shade that run right through Elstead's range of period style wall lights, but here the metal is left glossy rather than warmed with brass, giving the whole fitting a cooler, more contemporary edge.
Polished chrome
The chrome is buffed to a full shine rather than brushed, so the arm, the ribbed circular backplate and the collar around the shade all catch the light directly. Above it sits a clear, flared glass shade that leaves the bulb visible rather than diffusing it.
How it works
A single G9 lamp holder sits inside the glass shade, held up and angled outward by the arm so the light spreads upward and outward rather than shining straight down into the room. Fit a dimmable G9 bulb and the light will respond to a dimmer switch.
Where it works best
It suits mirror height best, either on its own beside a mirror or in a pair either side of one. Because the shade is clear glass and the metal is bright chrome rather than a darker finish, it stays feeling light and open even on a narrower stretch of wall. An Elstead design
Blake comes from Elstead Lighting, a British lighting group whose history traces back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, still led by the same Lucas family today. The swan neck arm and flared glass shade draw on that older decorative tradition, reworked here in polished chrome rather than the warmer brass or nickel versions in the same range, so you can match it to existing taps or a run of other Blake fittings.
