Elstead Blake Single Bathroom Wall Light - Polished Brass

Blake borrows its profile from old Victorian gas wall lights: a swan neck arm curving up to a wide flared glass shade, mounted on a ribbed circular backplate. In polished brass, the shape reads warm and traditional rather than austere, closer to a converted antique fitting than a modern reproduction.

The arm, backplate and lamp holder are all finished in a bright polished brass over an aluminium body, and the flared glass shade is left completely clear. Nothing is tinted or frosted, so the brass finish and the bulb inside do all the visual work.

How it works

A single G9 lamp holder sits inside the flared glass, tilted upward by the curve of the arm so light washes up and outward rather than shining straight ahead. It takes one 3W LED G9 bulb, not included, and dims if you fit a dimmable version. This fitting wires directly into the mains, so we'd always recommend a qualified electrician installs it.

Where it works best

Rated IP44, Blake is built to cope with bathroom steam and splashes, whether it's mounted singly beside a mirror or fitted in a pair either side of a cabinet for more even coverage.
