A reeded silhouette, cast in cooler silver light
Austen takes a traditional flared, ribbed glass shade and mounts it on a simple ball jointed arm in polished nickel, a finish that reads more like brushed silver than the harder shine of chrome. It's a compact, single arm design built specifically for use either side of a bathroom mirror.
The polished nickel finish
Nickel plating sits between chrome and brass in tone, warmer and softer than a chrome fitting but without the yellow cast of brass, which makes it an easy match whether your existing bathroom hardware leans warm or cool. The arm, ball joint and circular backplate all share the same bright, reflective finish, while the fluted glass shade above stays clear and untinted so it doesn't compete with it.
How It Works
A single G9 bulb sits inside the upturned glass shade, so light spreads upward and outward across the wall rather than shining straight down. The vertical ribs moulded into the glass break that light up as it passes through, softening the glow around a mirror instead of casting one hard point of glare. The bulb itself isn't included, and needs to be sourced separately.
Where It Works Best
The single arm keeps the fitting's footprint small, so it suits narrower stretches of wall either side of a mirror or basin where a wider design wouldn't fit comfortably.
