Clear Glass With a Crisscross Texture
This Dene pendant sets a satin black frame against a round clear glass shade pressed into a crisscross pattern. The pattern breaks the light up as it passes through, so instead of a flat glow you get a bit of movement and sparkle across the surface of the glass. It has a slightly more decorative feel than a plain shade while still being an easy fitting to live with day to day.

The frame here is satin black, paired specifically with the cross pattern clear glass shade. It's a combination that works whether the room around it is quite plain or has a bit more pattern and colour going on. The Dene design is offered in a number of finishes and glass styles, so there's room to pick something different if this particular texture isn't quite right for your space.
How It Works
A single G9 bulb, 10W maximum, powers this fitting, and it isn't supplied with the light. Fit it with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer if you want to control brightness. Electrically it's Class I, so it needs to be properly earthed on installation, and its IP44 rating protects it against water splashing from any direction, useful in rooms where steam or splashes are part of everyday use.
Where It Works Best
Being IP44 rated, this pendant is suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, for example above a basin or to one side of a mirror. Design Details
Part of the Dene range, this fitting relies on a textured glass shade to do most of the visual work, held by a plain black frame that stays out of the way. The crisscross pressing on the glass gives the shade a faceted, almost cut glass look without the fitting needing any extra ornamentation elsewhere. It's a straightforward way to add a bit more detail to a room than a completely smooth shade would give you.
