A tidy way to bridge two runs of LSNT neon strip
Cut a length of Collingwood LSNT top bend neon strip and sooner or later you need a way to pick the light back up somewhere else. This is the part that does it. Instead of butting two cut ends hard against each other, it drops a short length of cable in between, so a run can turn a corner, cross a joint in the substrate or step around an obstruction and then carry on. Anyone hunting for an LSNT neon strip connector, or for a strip to cable to strip joiner that keeps the run sealed, usually lands here for that reason.
Clear polycarbonate housings with a white linking cable
There is no decorative finish to talk about here, because the whole point is that it disappears into the installation. The housings are moulded in clear polycarbonate with steel contacts inside, so you can see the metal sitting against the strip once the joint is made, which is genuinely useful when you are checking your work before anything is powered up. The cable that runs between them is white, flexible and fitted with a moulded plug at each end. Everything is sized for the 13 x 12 mm LSNT top bend profile and pairs with that strip only. How It Works
Each cut end of the strip seats into one of the clear housings, where the steel contacts meet the conductors in the strip and the housing closes over the joint to seal it. The white cable then links the two housings together, so the two lengths of strip stay electrically connected while physically sitting apart. LSNT strip has cut points every 50mm, so plan the break at one of those marks rather than cutting where it suits the run. Keep both housings the same way round along the direction of travel, and keep the contacts clean and dry as you close them. Once fitted, the joint holds the same IP67 and IK08 protection as the strip either side of it.
Where It Works Best
This is an installation component rather than something on show, so the honest answer is that it works best where nobody will ever see it. It earns its place wherever a neon run has to stop and start again: a cove detail that turns a corner, a handrail that breaks at a newel post, a stair nosing that skips a landing, a shopfront reveal interrupted by a structural upright. Because the housings seal to IP67, the joint is as happy in an outdoor soffit or a garden wall recess as it is behind a plaster shadow gap indoors.
