A Compact Driver for 24V LED Strip and Fittings
The PS1524 is a small constant voltage LED driver from Collingwood, built to power 24V LED strip and fittings such as the LSC range. At 15W it's sized for shorter runs rather than whole house installations, and it's compact enough to disappear into a cupboard, ceiling void, or behind a run of strip where nobody will ever see it.
Built for the Job, Not for Show
This driver is finished in white plastic with clearly marked input and output terminals, so wiring it up is straightforward even in a tight space. It measures 103mm in length and 35.5mm in width, small enough to tuck away almost anywhere power needs converting for 24V DC use.
How It Works
The PS1524 takes a standard 220 to 240V mains supply and steps it down to a steady 24V DC output for LED strip and fittings that run on that voltage. It's rated 1 to 10V dimmable, but that dimming only switches on once Collingwood's PDCINT1-10V interface is added to the circuit. On its own, without that interface, it runs at a fixed brightness. It's built to Class II electrical standard, so it doesn't need a separate earth connection.
Where It Works Best
This is a driver for behind the scenes jobs: powering a short run of LED strip under kitchen cabinets, inside a wardrobe, along a shelf, or lighting a small display cabinet. At 15W it suits shorter runs or a handful of low wattage fittings rather than large scale strip installations, so it's worth checking your total connected wattage against this driver's output before specifying it. Because it's IP20 rated, it belongs indoors in a dry spot such as a cupboard or ceiling void, not anywhere exposed to damp or splashing.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has focused on LED technology since 2002, a history that includes the wider LSC strip system this driver is built to work alongside. The company says it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully sealed for life, and mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
- Does the PS1524 dim LED strip on its own? No. It's 1 to 10V dimmable, but the dimming function only works once Collingwood's PDCINT1-10V interface is fitted alongside it.
- How much LED strip can this driver power? At 15W it's suited to shorter strip runs or a small number of low wattage fittings rather than a large installation, so the total connected wattage should stay at or below 15W.
- Can the PS1524 be used outdoors? No. It's rated IP20, which means it's designed for indoor use in a dry location such as a cupboard or ceiling void, not for outdoor or damp environments.
- What size is the PS1524 driver? It measures 103mm in length and 35.5mm in width, small enough to fit inside a cupboard, ceiling void, or behind a run of strip.
