A Colour Changing Strip Built to Disappear
The LSR05 is an RGBW LED strip that mixes full colour with a warm or cool white, so one run of tape can shift from a rich, saturated hue to a soft white wash whenever you want a change. It's built to hide in the structure around it rather than be seen itself, so what shows is the light, not the strip.
The 5m Reel
This listing is the standard 5m reel, 12mm wide, finished in white with a clear coating protecting the LEDs. If 5m isn't the length you need, bespoke lengths can be cut to order, though that does mean the strip is supplied on a non returnable basis once it's cut.
How It Works
Each metre carries red, green, blue and white LEDs wired in parallel, so a compatible RGBW controller can mix any colour and dim smoothly across the run. Output varies by colour, from 2.9W per metre on blue up to 5W per metre on white, with red and green in between. The white channel can be set to a warm 3000K or a cooler 4000K depending on the controller and driver used, and colour rendering on white is 80 CRI, a solid, everyday level of accuracy. It runs at low voltage, so it needs a separate driver and, for full colour mixing, an RGBW controller, neither of which is included.
Where It Works Best
Because it's built to hide, the LSR05 works best wherever you want to see the glow rather than the fitting itself: recessed into a ceiling detail, run behind a floating shelf, tucked along a staircase string, or hidden in a cove above a run of cabinetry. It suits living rooms and bedrooms for mood and accent lighting, hallways and stairs for a subtle guide light, and home offices or dining rooms where switching from white task light to colour can change the whole feel of the room.
Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and builds its LED strip systems, drivers and controllers from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. Strip products like the LSR05 sit at the centre of that focus, part of a wider range of drivers and controllers designed to work together rather than as one off parts. Collingwood states it was among the first to bring fully sealed, mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, and the brand has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Do I need a separate driver for this strip?
Yes. The LSR05 runs at low voltage and needs a separate driver, plus an RGBW controller to access the full colour mixing and white channel, neither of which is included.
Can I use this strip in a bathroom?
No. It's rated IP20, which covers dry indoor use only, so it isn't suitable for bathrooms or other damp locations.
Can I get a different length to the 5m reel?
Yes. Bespoke lengths are available on request alongside the standard 5m reel.
Can I return the strip if I order the wrong length?
No. Because it's cut to length, it's supplied on a non returnable basis.
What white options does the strip offer?
Alongside full RGB colour mixing, the white channel can be set to a warm 3000K or a cooler 4000K, depending on the controller in use.
