The Cable That Keeps Every Repeater Talking
Big RGBW LED strip installations rarely run on a single length of tape. Once you start linking several runs together with power repeaters, something has to carry the colour and dimming signal from one repeater to the next without losing quality along the way. That is exactly what this cable does.
Five Cores, One Flat Cable
This is a 5 core ribbon cable, sold in 1 metre lengths. The five flat conductors run side by side rather than as a round bundle, which makes it easy to route neatly behind walls, along coving or through cable trunking. Each conductor is copper, chosen for dependable signal and power transfer over the length of the run. Every power repeater in the chain needs a minimum of 300mm of this cable, so a single metre gives you enough to link two or three repeaters with some to spare, or you can order multiple lengths for bigger jobs.
How It Works
The five cores carry the red, green, blue and white feeds needed for full RGBW colour mixing, plus a common feed that keeps every repeater working from the same reference. Rather than splicing or shortening a cable to fit, you cut this ribbon to the length you need between each repeater. That keeps the colour and brightness signal consistent all the way along the installation, so the tape at the end of a long run looks the same as the tape at the start.
Where It Works Best
This cable earns its keep on larger RGBW LED strip projects, coving runs that wrap around a whole room, kitchen plinth lighting split across several cabinet runs, or outdoor tape lighting stretched along a long garden boundary. Anywhere a scheme needs more than one power repeater to keep the signal strong, this is the link between them. It works equally well indoors or as part of an outdoor lighting scheme, tucked out of sight once the installation is finished.
