A Reliable Power Source For Longer LED Strip Runs
If you are wiring up a run of Collingwood's 24V LED strip or tape, something has to convert your mains supply into the low voltage DC power the strip actually uses. The LSD12024 is that driver. It is a straightforward, no fuss unit built to sit out of sight and do its job quietly, whether that is behind a kickboard, in a ceiling void or inside a cabinet.
The LSD12024, Explained
This is a 120W constant voltage driver with a compact white housing, measuring 300 x 40 x 30mm and weighing 425g. It takes a 220 to 240V AC mains input and outputs a steady 24V DC, up to 5A, through screw terminal connections. It is the current replacement for Collingwood's older PS10024 driver, so it drops straight into the same kind of installation, typically where a single higher powered driver is running a longer strip length or feeding several shorter runs from one point.
How It Works
The driver takes your household mains supply and steps it down to the 24V DC that Collingwood's strip and tape products need to run safely and consistently. At 120W, one LSD12024 can power around 5 metres of strip through a single PR3002 power repeater, or feed two to three PR3011 constant current repeaters where a colour change strip is involved. On its own the output is fixed, so it is not dimmable straight out of the box. Adding Collingwood's PDCINT1-10V interface gives it 1 to 10V dimming control, and the driver also carries built in protection against mains surges, short circuits and open circuits.
Where It Works Best
Because it is rated IP20, the LSD12024 needs to live somewhere dry and enclosed rather than out in the open. That makes it well suited to joinery projects such as kitchen kickboards, alcove shelving and bar counters, as well as ceiling voids, loft spaces and the inside of cabinets where a longer strip run needs feeding from one central driver. It is not intended for bathrooms, outdoor spaces or anywhere it could be exposed to damp or splashing.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has been focused on LED technology since 2002. The brand says it was among the first to bring mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, alongside its wider range of fire rated and fully sealed fittings. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Can I dim the LSD12024 on its own?
No. As supplied it has a fixed 24V output. Add Collingwood's PDCINT1-10V interface to get 1 to 10V dimming control.
How much LED strip can one LSD12024 power?
At 120W, a single unit can run around 5 metres of Collingwood strip through one PR3002 power repeater, or supply two to three PR3011 constant current repeaters for colour change strip setups.
Where can I fit it?
Anywhere dry and enclosed, since it is rated IP20. Cabinets, kickboards, loft spaces and ceiling voids all work well. Keep it away from bathrooms, outdoor areas or anywhere damp.
Is this a straight swap for my old PS10024?
Yes. The LSD12024 is Collingwood's current replacement for the PS10024 and fits the same style of installation.
Does it need a qualified electrician to fit it?
As a mains wired product, Moonlight Design recommends having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
