The GL034 is a hooded ground or wall light built around a simple problem: most uplighters let you see the bulb as clearly as the surface it's lighting. A raised stainless steel visor sits over the lens here, blocking a direct line of sight to the LED so you get the light on the wall, tree or facade in front of it rather than a glare source staring back at you. How It Works

The GL034 is a straight to mains fitting, so there's no separate transformer or driver box to plan for, the driver is built into the fitting and the wiring runs in parallel. It draws 2.9W through a 40 degree beam and is available in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, so you can match it to warmer patio lighting or a cooler, more architectural wash elsewhere in the garden. It runs at a CRI of 80, giving reasonably natural colour rendering on stone, brick or foliage, and is wired to Class I electrical standards.

Can this be walked over once it's installed?
Yes. The GL034 is walk over rated and carries an IK08 impact rating, so it copes with foot traffic and knocks when recessed into a path, patio or driveway.

Does it need a separate driver or transformer?
No. It's a straight to mains fitting with the driver built into the unit, so it wires directly into the mains supply with no extra transformer to install.

Can it be mounted on a wall as well as recessed into the ground?
Yes. The hooded visor design works either recessed into the ground looking upward or mounted low on a wall, in both cases shielding the LED from direct view.

Which colour temperature should I choose?
It comes in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K. 2700K gives the warmest, most traditional glow, 3000K is a slightly crisper warm white, and 4000K gives a cooler, more neutral light.
