A Soft Marker Light for Paths and Floors
The GL019 Frosted is a small round ground light built to blend in rather than stand out. Its frosted lens spreads a soft, even glow across a wide 100 degree angle, so you get gentle illumination without a hot spot or a visible bulb. It's designed to mark a route or highlight a surface, not to light a whole space on its own.
Stainless Steel, Built for Being Walked Over
This version is finished in 316 stainless steel, the same grade often used in marine fittings, so it resists corrosion even in coastal or heavily exposed spots. The compact 40mm body needs only a shallow recess, so depth isn't a problem when you're fitting it. It's available in 2700K or 3000K, both giving the same soft, diffused character, just a slightly different warmth of white.
How It Works
The GL019 runs on low voltage and needs a separate driver, it doesn't take mains power directly. It's Class III and wired in series, so several units can share one circuit and driver rather than each needing its own supply. Run it at 350mA for about 1W of gentle light, or step up to 700mA for around 2W where you want a touch more presence. Colour rendering sits above 80 CRI, so nearby surfaces and planting still look natural under it.
Where It Works Best
Because the beam is wide and soft rather than tight, the GL019 works well set into a path, a patio, a step, or the edge of a driveway, marking the way after dark rather than acting as a spotlight. Being IP68 rated, it's built for life in the ground, standing water and wet weather won't trouble it. Indoors, it can also be recessed into a floor to mark a threshold or a walkway.
Made By Collingwood
Collingwood Lighting designs and builds its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. For a ground light like the GL019, that background shows in the sealed, IP68 construction. Collingwood also says it was among the first brands to bring fully waterproof, sealed for life LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, which fits a fitting meant to sit underfoot outdoors. The company has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of businesses assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
- Can the GL019 take a direct mains connection? No. It's Class III and needs a separate low voltage driver, it isn't designed to run straight off mains voltage.
- How many GL019 units can share one driver? That depends on the driver's rated output and the wattage you run each light at. Since they're wired in series, check the driver's rated load before adding more units to the same circuit.
- Will it survive standing water or wet weather? Yes. It's IP68 rated and built to be set into the ground, so standing water and wet conditions are within its design.
- What's the difference between the 2700K and 3000K options? Both give a warm white light with the same soft, frosted diffusion. 2700K reads slightly warmer and more yellow, 3000K a touch whiter.
