A Slim, Fire Rated Downlight in All Black

Part of Collingwood's 1901 range, this fixed round downlight is built to sit almost flush with the ceiling. The bezel is just 75mm across, the fitting is only 72mm deep, and the cut out is a compact 65 to 68mm, so it reads as a small, neat dot of light rather than a fitting hanging below the plasterboard.

Aluminium Build, All Black Finish

The housing is aluminium, finished in black rather than the range's white or two tone options, so it suits darker ceilings or anywhere you want the downlight to disappear rather than stand out. It's a fixed fitting rather than adjustable, so the head sits square and doesn't tilt or rotate. That means simpler wiring and a lower profile than an adjustable head, though it can't be aimed after fitting.

How It Works

Each fitting runs a single 9.6W LED module, with a choice of 2700K, 3000K or 4000K fixed colour temperature, or a dim to warm option that shifts down from 3000K to 1800K as you lower the dimmer, closer to how a halogen bulb behaves. Colour rendering is CRI90+ throughout, so finishes and fabrics read true under it. You can also choose a 12°, 24° or 50° beam angle depending on how tight or wide a spread you want, and pick mains, 1-10V or DALI-2 dimming. The driver is matched to your choice and supplied separately, wired in via cable rather than built into the fitting. Rolled spring clips and plug and play connectors are included, so both first and second fix are straightforward.

Where It Works Best

It's available in IP44 for standard indoor ceilings or IP65 for wetter rooms, and the IP65 version is rated for bathroom zone 1.
