A Spotlight That Points Where You Need It
Not every light needs to shine straight down. The Collingwood 1901 Rotatable Spotlight fixes flush to the ceiling with no cutting needed, then lets you tilt and turn the head until the beam lands exactly where you want it, on a picture, a worktop, a reading chair, wherever you're aiming.
White Housing, Black Baffle
This version pairs a white cylindrical housing with a black baffle inside the head. The white blends into a light ceiling, while the black baffle inside cuts glare and keeps the light source from being an eyesore when you look up at it. It's made from aluminium, giving it a solid finish that will keep its colour over years of use.
How It Works
- Built around a 9.6W integrated LED engine, so there's no separate bulb to source or replace.
- Choose from 2700K, 3000K or 4000K white light, or a dim to warm option that shifts from 3000K down to 1800K as you dim it.
- Comes with a choice of 12, 24, 45 or 50 degree beam angles, so you can go tight and dramatic or wide and general.
- Mains dimmable, with the driver built into the fitting so there's no separate box to hide.
- The head tilts 90 degrees and rotates a full 360 degrees, and holds its position once you've aimed it.
Where It Works Best
Because it's IP44 rated and fixes straight to the ceiling with no cutout required, it works equally well in a kitchen over an island, a hallway with awkward angles, an office that needs directional task light, or a bathroom where the rules for zone 2 rule out anything less protected. It also suits stairwells, dining rooms, living rooms and commercial spaces where you want to pick out art, shelving or a feature wall rather than flood the whole room evenly.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED fittings from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has focused solely on LED technology since 2002. Questions People Ask
Do I need to cut into the ceiling to fit this?
No. It's a surface mounted fitting with no cutout required, so it fixes flush to the ceiling face.
Can I still adjust the angle once it's wired in?
Yes. The head tilts 90 degrees and rotates 360 degrees, so you can point it somewhere new any time after installation.
Is it safe to use in a bathroom?
It's IP44 rated, which meets the requirements for bathroom zone 2.
What colour temperature should I choose?
That depends on the room. 2700K gives an extra warm, cosy glow, 3000K is a standard warm white, 4000K is a cooler, brighter white, and the dim to warm option shifts from 3000K down to 1800K as you dim it for a softer glow at lower levels.
Does it come with a dimmer switch?
It's mains dimmable and the driver is built into the fitting, but you'll still need a compatible dimmer switch on the wall to control it.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
No. It's made to order, so it's sold on a not returnable basis.
