A Neat Spotlight That Hangs Rather Than Hides
Most of Collingwood's 1901 range recesses into the ceiling, but this version does the opposite. It hangs below it on 1.5m of adjustable fabric cable, so you get the same tight, precise beam as a downlight but with the drop and presence of a proper pendant. It suits a single fitting over a desk or console table just as well as a row of two or three above a kitchen island or dining table.
White Housing, Black Baffle
The cylindrical aluminium body is finished in white, with a black baffle recessed into the open end. That dark baffle does a real job. It swallows stray light and glare from the LED so you see a clean beam rather than the light source itself. The ceiling canopy is white too, 90mm across, feeding a slim white cable that adjusts to set the exact drop you want, up to 1.5m.
How It Works
Each fitting is built around a 9.6W LED engine with CRI90+ colour rendering, so whites and skin tones look accurate rather than washed out. There's a choice of colour temperature and beam width, so you can match the spread of light to the space.
- 2700K extra warm white, 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white, or a dim to warm option that runs from 3000K down to 1800K as you dim
- Beam angles of 12°, 24° or 50° on the standard colour temperatures, or 24° and 45° on the dim to warm option
- Dimmable via mains, 1 to 10V or DALI, with the driver supplied with the fitting but wired in separately rather than built into the housing
- Wired in parallel, so several fittings can run from one circuit
Where It Works Best
Because it's rated IP44 and suitable for bathroom zone 2, this pendant isn't limited to dry rooms. It can hang over a vanity or bath surround as well as doing more everyday work in kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, hallways, offices, stairwells and commercial spaces. A single fitting suits a reading corner or console table, while a repeated row makes a clean line above a kitchen island or dining run.
