A Square Downlight That Sits Flush Into The Ceiling

This is the fixed version of Collingwood's 1901 downlight, finished in all white with a straight edged square bezel rather than a round one. Because it's fixed rather than adjustable, it always points straight down, which keeps a row of them looking calm and even across a ceiling.

The bezel measures 90 by 90mm, with an overall depth of around 72mm, and it fits into a cutout of 65 to 78mm depending on your ceiling. The finish is a plain matte white that disappears against a painted ceiling, and the square edge lines up naturally with grid layouts or square floor and wall tiling, somewhere a round bezel would look slightly out of place.

How It Works

Each fitting runs at a total of 9.6W and is available in 2700K extra warm white, 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white, or a dim to warm option that shifts from 3000K down to 1800K as you dim it, all rated at CRI90+ for accurate colour rendering. You can choose a 12°, 24° or 50° beam depending on how tight or wide you want the spread of light to be. Dimming is built in via mains, 1 to 10V or DALI control, handled by a driver that's supplied with the fitting and wired in on arrival, so there's nothing extra to source.

Where It Works Best

In IP44, it suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, hallways, offices and stairwells, anywhere you want a clean recessed downlight rather than a visible fitting. Choose the IP65 version and it's also rated for bathroom zone 1, as well as commercial spaces where a higher ingress rating is needed.
