A Downlight Built to Sit Still and Blend In

The 1901 Fixed Round Downlight points straight down and stays there. Unlike the adjustable version in the same range, there's no tilt or swivel here, which is exactly the point. Fit a run of these across a ceiling and every one lines up identically, giving an even, symmetrical spread of light rather than a scatter of individually aimed spots.

White Housing, Black Baffle

The visible trim is white, so it sits quietly against a painted ceiling, while the baffle inside the aperture is finished black. That dark recess shields the lamp from view at an angle and cuts down the glare you'd get from a plain white cone. Housing and trim are aluminium, and the cut out is 65 to 78mm, matching the hole size of most standard downlights it might be replacing.

How It Works

It runs at a total of 9.6W, with a choice of beam angle, 12°, 24° or 50°, so you can pick a tight spot or a wider wash depending on where it's going. Colour temperature options are 2700K extra warm white at around 600 lumens, 3000K warm white at around 625 to 650 lumens, or 4000K cool white at around 725 to 750 lumens, plus a dim to warm setting that drifts down to 1800K as it dims. All options run at CRI90+, so colours stay accurate whichever you choose. Dimming is mains, 1 to 10V or DALI depending on the driver fitted, and the driver comes supplied with the fitting, wired in via cable.

Where It Works Best

Choose IP44 for a standard dry room, or IP65 if the ceiling above is exposed to moisture. The IP65 version is rated for bathroom zone 1 as well as the usual dry rooms, so the same fitting can run from a hallway into a bathroom without switching designs. Either way it suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, hallways, offices, stairwells and commercial spaces, and being fixed rather than adjustable, it works best as part of a consistent grid of downlights rather than a single feature spotlight.
