Twin Beams, One Clean Cutout
The Collingwood 1901 Double Fixed Trimless Downlight puts two light heads through a single fitting, so you get twin beams without cutting two separate holes in the ceiling. Each head is fixed rather than adjustable, giving a neat, settled look that suits runs of downlights along a hallway or over a stretch of units.
White Housing, Black Baffle
This version pairs a white aluminium housing with a black baffle around each lamp. The white surround blends into most ceiling colours, while the black baffle recesses the lamp itself and helps cut glare, so you see the light rather than the fitting. It keeps the trimless, frameless finish that the 1901 fixed range is built around.
How It Works
- Two 9.6W LED engines run from the same fitting, 19.2W in total, sharing a single 70 to 90mm cutout per head.
- Beam angle is a choice of 12°, 24° or 50°, so you can pick a tight spot or a wider spread depending on the head.
- Colour temperature options are 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, or a dim to warm setting that shifts down to 1800K as it dims.
- Dimming is available as mains, 1 to 10V or DALI, with the driver supplied and wired in via parallel wiring.
Where It Works Best
Because one fitting covers two beams, this downlight is useful anywhere you want even light without doubling up on ceiling cutouts, over a run of kitchen cupboards, along a hallway, or spaced through a stairwell. It also suits living rooms, dining rooms, offices and commercial spaces where a fixed, non tilting beam is enough. The IP65 build extends that to bathroom zone 1, kitchens and other areas where moisture is a factor.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell, Northamptonshire, and has focused on LED technology since 2002. The brand says it was among the first to bring fire rated LED downlights to the UK electrical wholesale market, which lines up with this fitting's fire rated construction for use in real ceiling builds. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.
Good to Know

- Fire rated construction, certified to Part P and Part L in all versions, with Part C and Part E covered on the IP65 version.
- Aluminium housing, fixed heads with no tilt or adjustment.
- Backed by a 7 year warranty from Collingwood.
- This item is non returnable, so do check the finish, colour temperature and dimming type before ordering.
- Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician, as this is a mains wired fitting.
Questions People Ask
Can each head be aimed separately?
No. This is the fixed version of the 1901 range, so both heads point straight down and cannot be tilted or swivelled.
Do I need one cutout or two?
Two. Each head has its own 70 to 90mm cutout, spaced across the shared fitting, rather than a single combined hole.
What's the difference between the IP44 and IP65 versions?
The IP65 version is sealed against moisture and dust to a higher standard, which is what allows it into bathroom zone 1. The IP44 version suits drier rooms such as living rooms, offices and hallways.
Does it come with a dimmer switch?
No. The fitting is dimmable and includes its own driver, but the dimmer switch itself is a separate purchase and needs to match the dimming type chosen, mains, 1 to 10V or DALI.
Can I mix colour temperatures across a room?
Yes, since colour temperature is set per fitting at the point of order, you can choose differently for each location if your scheme calls for it.
