Collingwood 1901 Double Fixed Trimless Downlight - All Black (Fire-Rated)

Two Trimless Beams From One Ceiling Cutout

This is the double head version of Collingwood's 1901 trimless downlight, built for anywhere you want two matching pools of light without two separate holes in the ceiling. Both heads sit in a single plaster in plate, so once it's finished you get one clean line rather than a pair of individual fittings side by side.

Finished in All Black

The visible parts, the trims and the light engines themselves, are finished in black, giving a bit more contrast against a light ceiling than the white version of the same fitting. The main housing is aluminium. The mounting plate behind it is left unfinished, since it's designed to disappear under a skim of plaster, with cutouts around its edge that let the plaster key into it properly.

How It Works

• Two fixed 9.6W LED engines are built into the one plate, giving 19.2W in total.
• The heads are fixed rather than adjustable, so they don't tilt. That keeps both beams pointing straight down and consistent with each other.
• Each head takes a 70 to 90mm cutout.
• Choose a 12°, 24° or 50° beam angle.
• Pick a fixed colour temperature: 2700K extra warm white at around 600 lumens, 3000K warm white at around 625 to 650 lumens, or 4000K cool white at around 725 to 750 lumens. A dim to warm option is also available, running down to 1800K as it dims. All options are CRI90+.
• The driver is supplied with the fitting and wired in via cable, in parallel, rather than built into the heads themselves. Choose mains, 1-10V or DALI dimming to suit your circuit.

Where It Works Best

Because both heads point the same way and can't be aimed individually, this fitting works best where you want two even, side by side beams rather than the flexibility of two separate spots, over a run of kitchen worktop, along a hallway or corridor, or spaced above a desk or dining table. The IP65 version is rated for bathroom zone 1 as well as kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, offices and stairwells, and the fire rating makes it a sound choice for older ceilings with real timber joists as well as modern engineered ones. • Do both heads on this downlight tilt or point in different directions? No. Both heads are fixed in place and point straight down, so you get two consistent beams rather than adjustable spots.
• Can I have a different beam angle or colour temperature on each head? No. Each double fitting is built with both heads set to the same beam angle and colour temperature, so choose the combination that suits the space when you order.
• Is this downlight suitable for a bathroom? The IP65 version is rated for bathroom zone 1. The IP44 version is intended for rooms without direct water exposure, such as kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, offices and stairwells.
• What's the difference between the IP44 and IP65 options? IP65 is fully sealed against dust and water jets, which is what allows it into bathroom zone 1. IP44 protects against splashing water, which suits the same general living spaces but not direct wet zones.
