A Spiralling Ring of 62 Individual Lights

The Skybell Circle S/62L is built from three concentric rings that step down like a spiral rather than sitting in one flat plane. From those rings, 62 individual cone shaped pendant heads drop at four staggered lengths, from 450mm up to 750mm, so the lights cascade downward in a way that reads as one continuous piece rather than a cluster of separate lamps. The whole ring spans 5 metres across and reaches a maximum drop of 3.8 metres, built for spaces with the height and floor area to carry a piece of this scale.

Down Lighting or Up and Down Lighting

The Down Lighting version sends its full output, 198.4W and 23064 lumens, downward through all 62 heads. The Up and Down Lighting version keeps that same downward output and adds a further 160.3W and 17280 lumens directed upward, so light also washes the ceiling above rather than only the space below.

How It Works

Every one of the 62 pendant heads holds its own integrated LED, so there's no separate bulb to source or replace. Each head casts a 30 degree beam at a warm 2700K colour temperature, with a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering. The whole fitting is dimmable, so its output can be brought down for a softer ambient glow or run at full brightness as a bold architectural statement.

At this scale, the Skybell Circle S/62L suits spaces built around a strong central feature: a stairwell that runs through several floors, a grand hallway or entrance, or a living or dining space tall enough for a 5 metre ring to hang without crowding the room. Bover started in Barcelona in 1996, when a sketch Joana Bover drew for an architect friend became the beginning of a lighting brand. It's still designed and made in Spain today, from the company's base in Cardedeu near Barcelona. Bover is known for two very different crafts: hand woven synthetic fibre pieces built for the outdoors, and intricate wood lattice fixtures for indoors, such as the Dome family, made from over 170 individually woven beech strips. Across both, the designs carry a distinctly Mediterranean feel. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
