A Circle of Twelve Lights for Grand Spaces

The Skybell Circle S/12L arranges twelve individual light points around a 1300mm black ring, so instead of one bright source you get an even halo of light spread around the whole circumference. It's built for rooms with real height and volume, somewhere a single pendant would look lost but a full ring of light reads as a genuine architectural statement.

Down Lighting or Up and Down Lighting

The Down Lighting version sends all twelve points downward, throwing a clearly defined pool of light onto the room below, useful over a kitchen island or dining table where you want the light focused on the surface underneath. The Up and Down Lighting version keeps that same downward beam and adds an upward wash across the ceiling, softening the overall light and dramatising whatever's above it. Both share the same black iron and aluminium ring, so the choice comes down to how you want the light to behave rather than how the fitting looks.

How It Works

Each light point runs at a warm 2700K with a CRI of 90, so colours stay true rather than washing out under it. The Down Lighting version uses 38.4W to produce 4464 lumens; the Up and Down Lighting version keeps that output and adds a further 26.7W and 2880 lumens directed upward. The whole fixture is dimmable, and the twelve cables that hold the ring allow a drop of up to 3600mm, so it can be set for the exact ceiling height of the room it's hanging in. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Its scale suits double height living areas, entrance halls, staircases and hotel lobbies, anywhere a ceiling needs one strong, symmetrical point of light rather than a cluster of smaller fittings. It also works well over a long kitchen island or dining table, where the ring reads as a single sculptural piece rather than a row of separate pendants.

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996 by Joana Bover, starting out as a sketch for an architect friend's project. The brand still designs and produces its lighting in Spain, headquartered in Cardedeu near Barcelona, and carries a Mediterranean design sensibility across its range, from hand woven synthetic fibre outdoor pieces to intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures such as the Dome family, built from over 170 individually woven beech strips.
