The Siam 80 flips the usual ceiling shade upside down, so light gathers and cascades downward rather than spreading flat across the room. Its rounded, lantern like form carries a quiet oriental influence, and it works equally well as a single fitting or grouped into a small cluster.

Two Ways to Finish It

The frame is satin nickel either way, but the shade sets the mood. Choose cream for a warmer, softer glow, or white for a cleaner finish that reads brighter against pale walls and ceilings.

How It Works

Siam 80 takes up to three E27 LED bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 9W, so you choose the exact warmth and output of light rather than relying on one fixed source. It only dims if you fit dimmable bulbs, and standard bulbs will run at full brightness. At 280mm tall and 800mm in diameter, it sits on a 120mm ceiling plate. Several shades can also be grouped and partially overlapped, so a cluster of Siam fittings reads as one layered composition rather than separate lights.

Where It Works Best

Its scale and soft, ambient glow suit living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, as well as hallways where a single striking shade or a small grouped cluster can carry a ceiling scheme on its own.

Made By Bover

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996 by Joana Bover, growing out of a sketch drawn for an architect friend's project. The brand still designs and makes its lighting in Spain, based in Cardedeu near Barcelona, and carries a distinctly Mediterranean sensibility across its range, from hand woven outdoor pieces to sculptural indoor fixtures like the Siam. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
