A Continuous Ring of Light for Ceiling or Wall

The Roda PF/150 sits between the compact PF/120 and the large scale PF/200 in Bover's PF range, a mid size ring of LED light for hallways, landings and dining spaces with standard ceiling heights that still want a fitting with real presence. At 1500mm across, it reads as a single unbroken loop of light rather than a cluster of separate spotlights, and it can be fitted to the ceiling or mounted flat to a wall.

Two Diffuser Tones: Cream and White

Both finishes share the same brown aluminium frame, so the choice comes down to the diffuser itself. The Cream diffuser gives a slightly warmer cast to the light as it passes through the fluted surface, and suits rooms with timber tones or softer palettes. The White diffuser reads as cleaner and more neutral, and sits comfortably against pale walls or a more contemporary scheme. Neither changes the fitting's output, only the tone of the glow it throws.

How It Works

A continuous LED ring runs the full circumference of the frame, rated at 66W and 2910 lumens with a warm 2700K colour temperature and a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering. It's compatible with 1-10V dimming for installations that need that level of control, and comes with two spacer tube sizes so several Roda fittings can sit at slightly different depths when installed together. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Its scale suits generous hallways, landings and dining rooms where one fitting needs to do the work of several downlights. Because it mounts to a wall as well as a ceiling, it also works well framing a mirror for a softly backlit look, hung alone as a sculptural ring, or grouped with other sizes from the PF range for a cluster effect over a table or run of wall.

Bover started in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover turned a sketch she'd drawn for an architect friend into the beginnings of a lighting company. The brand has stayed rooted in Spain ever since, still designed and produced from its base in Cardedeu, just outside Barcelona. Bover is best known for two crafts: hand woven outdoor pieces in synthetic fibre, and intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures such as the Dome family, built from more than 170 individually woven strips of beech. Across both, there's a distinctly Mediterranean sensibility to the designs. The brand opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012, extending its reach beyond Europe.
