A Linear Acoustic Pendant with Presence

The Noren S/151 stretches a slim 151cm across, built to hang low and long above a table, counter or meeting space while quietly doing double duty. Underneath its slender profile sits an acoustic core designed to soften noise in busy rooms, so it lights the space and calms it at the same time.

A Terracotta Shell Over an Acoustic Core

The outer shell is finished in a warm terracotta tone, wrapped in a thermoplastic, fire resistant fabric from Crevin. Underneath sits a layer of Basotect sound absorbing foam, held within an aluminium frame with MDF end pieces. The terracotta tone gives the pendant an earthy warmth that suits timber, stone or muted paint colours nearby.

How It Works

Choose between two versions. The Down Lighting model runs a 20.5W integrated LED rated at 3000 lumens, directing light downward onto the surface below. The Up and Down Lighting model adds a second 7W, 1040 lumen uplight, washing the ceiling with ambient light alongside the downward beam. Both run at a warm 3000K colour temperature with a CRI of 95 for accurate colour rendering, and both are DALI dimmable so they can be wired into a wider lighting control system. Beam angle is 60 degrees or 90 degrees depending on setup, and the drop is adjustable from 850mm up to 3350mm to suit the ceiling height.

Where It Works Best

Its length and acoustic properties suit open plan offices, meeting rooms and busy commercial interiors where echo builds up over a long table or run of desks. It also works well above a long dining table, kitchen island or restaurant banquette, anywhere a linear pendant needs to soften both light and sound.

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover turned a sketch for an architect friend into the start of a lighting brand. The company still designs and manufactures from Cardedeu, just outside Barcelona, working across two distinct crafts: hand woven synthetic fibre for its outdoor pieces, and intricate wood lattice construction indoors, such as the Dome family's beech strip shades. There's a Mediterranean sensibility running through the whole range. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
