A Linear Pendant That Also Quiets the Room

The Noren S/151 is an acoustic pendant built to do two jobs at once: cast a long, even line of light and soak up some of the noise bouncing around beneath it. At 151cm long and finished in a soft Light Grey, it reads as a piece of design first and an acoustic panel second.

Built to Absorb Sound as Well as Cast Light

Inside the aluminium frame sits a core of Basotect sound absorbing foam, wrapped in a fire resistant fabric from Crevin and backed with MDF. The Light Grey covering is soft and neutral, so it settles into most colour schemes without drawing attention to itself the way a bolder finish would.

How It Works

The Noren S/151 comes as either Down Lighting only or Up and Down Lighting, so you can choose whether the light stays focused below the fitting or also washes the ceiling above it. Both use an integrated LED at 3000K warm white with a CRI of 95, running at 20.5W and 3000 lumens downward, with the dual version adding 7W and 1040 lumens upward. It's Dali dimmable and the drop is adjustable from 850mm up to 3350mm, so it can be set low over a table or higher across a taller space.

Its length and acoustic core suit long dining tables, kitchen peninsulas and open plan offices or meeting rooms, anywhere a hard ceiling and a long table combine to make a room noisier than it needs to be.

Bover began in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover sketched a design for an architect friend and the idea grew into a lighting brand of its own. The company still designs and manufactures from Cardedeu, near Barcelona, working across two distinct crafts: hand woven synthetic fibre for outdoor pieces and hand built wood lattice fixtures like the Dome family indoors, all carrying a Mediterranean design sensibility. Bover opened a subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012 to serve the US market, while design and production have stayed rooted in Spain throughout.
