A Linear Pendant That Quiets the Room Too

The Noren S/123 is a narrow linear pendant built to do two jobs at once, casting warm light and pulling reflected noise out of the air above it. At 123cm long it sits comfortably over a dining table, kitchen island or meeting table, and the Terracotta fabric shade gives it a warm, earthy presence rather than a plain white or grey box overhead.

A Woven Terracotta Fabric Over an Acoustic Core

The visible surface is a fire resistant Crevin® fabric in Terracotta, chosen as much for its warm tone as for how it performs. Underneath, a Basotect sound absorbing foam core sits inside an aluminium and MDF structure, so the whole shade works as a sound treatment panel as well as a light fitting. It is the same acoustic build across the Noren range, with Terracotta simply the warmest of its colourways.

How It Works

The Down Lighting version runs an integrated LED at 15.3W and 2295 lumens, shining straight down onto the table below. Choose Up and Down Lighting and a second source adds 7W and 1040 lumens upward, softening the ceiling above as well. Both run at 3000K warm white with a 95 CRI, so colours underneath stay true, and the driver is Dali dimmable for use with a compatible dimming system. The drop adjusts from 850mm up to 3350mm, so it can be set low over a table or higher in a taller room. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Its acoustic core makes it a natural fit for open plan offices, meeting rooms and other commercial spaces where hard surfaces let noise travel and bounce, and it suits busy dining rooms and living spaces just as well when you want the room to feel calmer as well as better lit. Hung over a boardroom table, a reception desk or a family dining table, it does the work of a light fitting and a sound treatment panel in one.

Bover began in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover turned a sketch drawn for an architect friend's project into the start of a lighting brand. The company has stayed Spanish ever since, designing and producing from its base in Cardedeu, near Barcelona. Bover is best known for hand woven outdoor pieces in synthetic fibre and for intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures such as the Dome family, built from over 170 individually woven beech strips, all carrying the same Mediterranean design sensibility. The brand opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
