A Rounded Glow for Low Ceilings
The Nans Sphere PF/60 takes the softly rounded, hand woven shade from Bover's Sphere range and turns it into a flush ceiling fitting. Bover named the Sphere family after Cala Nans, a secluded cove near Cadaques reachable only on foot or by boat, and this fitting keeps that same rounded silhouette in a compact form that sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down.
Three Woven Finishes
It comes in three finishes. Beige gives a soft, sandy tone that blends into stone or render. Brown leans more natural, closer to woven cane or timber. Red is the boldest option, a warm terracotta shade that stands out against a pale porch ceiling. All three use the same woven synthetic fibre shade over an aluminium and stainless steel frame.
How It Works
An integrated LED light source sits inside the woven polycarbonate shade, running at 14W and 1400 lumens in a warm 2700K white with a CRI of 90, so colours underneath it look natural rather than washed out. It's compatible with triac dimming if you want to soften the light further. The fitting is rated Class I and IP54, with metalwork coated in cataphoresis and epoxy polyester paint to cope with outdoor conditions. It's supplied as a single flush ceiling fitting, 570mm high and 600mm in diameter, with a 50mm high, 120mm diameter ceiling plate.
Where It Works Best
Because it sits flush rather than dropping down, it suits porches, covered walkways and low canopies where headroom is limited and a pendant would hang too low. It gives the same soft, diffused glow as the hanging Sphere pendants, just in a fitting for spaces that need to keep clear overhead.
Made By Bover
Bover began in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover sketched a design for an architect friend's project and the idea grew into a lighting brand. It's still designed and made in Spain, run out of Cardedeu near Barcelona, and known for two very different specialities, hand woven synthetic fibre pieces for outside like the Sphere range, and intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures such as the Dome family. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012 and keeps a Mediterranean sensibility running through everything it makes.

Questions People Ask
Can the Nans Sphere PF/60 be used outdoors?
Yes, it's rated IP54 and built with weather resistant materials, so it's designed for covered outdoor spots like porches and walkways rather than fully exposed positions.
Is the light dimmable?
Yes, it works with triac dimming, so the light level can be lowered if you want something softer than the full 1400 lumens.
Which finish should I choose?
Beige suits pale stone or render, brown works well against natural materials like timber or cane, and red gives a bolder terracotta accent against a plain ceiling.
