Three Graduated Shades in One Cluster Pendant

The Nans S/3L groups three hand woven shades of different sizes onto a single ceiling fitting, taking its name from Cala Nans, a remote cove near Cadaqués known for its weathered lighthouse. Rather than repeating one shade three times, the design steps up in scale from a small shade to a much larger one, so the cluster reads as one composed piece rather than three identical repeats.

Three Finishes: Beige, Brown and Red

Beige keeps the cluster pale and neutral, sitting easily against most wall colours and worktops. Brown is warmer and closer to natural cane, and works well near timber or dark metal furniture. Red is the boldest of the three, giving the pendant a clear focal colour rather than blending into the room. All three finishes share the same hand woven synthetic fibre construction over an aluminium and stainless steel frame.

How It Works

Each of the three shades holds its own integrated LED, together rated at 3 x 9.5W and 3 x 1450 lumens, with a warm 2700K colour temperature and a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering. Light passes through the woven fibre rather than shining directly out, so the glow stays soft across all three shades. The fitting works with a Triac dimmer and is rated IP20, so it's designed for indoor use only.

Its spread of three shades suits dining tables and kitchen islands, where the graduated sizes create more visual interest than a single pendant. It also works well over a run of stairs or in a generous hallway, anywhere a cluster of light adds presence rather than just a single point of glow.

Bover started in Barcelona in 1996, after a sketch Joana Bover drew for an architect friend grew into the idea for a lighting brand. The company still designs and makes its pieces from Cardedeu, just outside Barcelona. Much of its outdoor range is built from hand woven synthetic fibre, while indoors the same craft turns to wood, seen in the Dome family's shades woven from over 170 individual strips of beech. Across both, the designs carry a distinctly Mediterranean sensibility. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
