A Hand Woven Flush Light Inspired by Cala Nans

Bover named the Nans collection after Cala Nans, a secluded cove near Cadaqués reached only on foot or by boat. The PF/31 carries that same coastal, hand woven character into a large flush ceiling light, sitting close against the ceiling rather than hanging down, which suits porches and covered terraces where headroom is limited.

Beige, Brown or Red

The PF/31 comes in three woven finishes. Beige keeps things soft and sandy, sitting well against light render or stone. Brown leans warmer and more natural, closer to weathered wood than metal. Red is the boldest option, standing out clearly against greenery or a pale wall rather than blending into it.

How It Works

An integrated LED sits behind the woven fibre shade, running at 9.5W and 1450 lumens in a warm 2700K white with a CRI of 90 for accurate colour. It works with a Triac dimmer, so the light level can be set to suit the space below it. Being a flush fitting, there's no drop to adjust, just the fixture itself at 377mm high and 315mm in diameter, with a 120mm ceiling plate.

Where It Works Best

Its larger scale suits wider porches, covered terraces and outdoor dining areas that need more light than a smaller flush fitting would give, while still keeping a low profile for spaces where a hanging pendant wouldn't fit.

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover first sketched the idea for an architect friend's project. The company still designs and makes its lighting in Spain, based in Cardedeu near Barcelona, and opened a subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012 to serve the US market.
