The Nans Balis S/140 is the largest pendant in Bover's Nans Balis range, an elongated hand woven shade named after Cala Nans, a hidden cove near Cadaqués reachable only on foot or by boat. Scaled up to 1400mm in length, it reads as a genuine architectural piece rather than a fitting you barely notice.

Three Woven Finishes

The Nans Balis S/140 comes in beige, brown or red, each hand woven from the same recyclable, non toxic polyethylene fibre over an aluminium and stainless steel frame. Beige gives the lightest, sandiest tone, closest to the pale shoreline it's named after. Brown reads warmer and more natural, blending into planting and timber decking. Red is the boldest option, a strong accent colour for a contemporary terrace or poolside setting.

How It Works

An integrated LED sits inside the woven shade, running at 44W and 4400 lumens with a warm 2400K colour temperature and a CRI of 90, so light glows softly through the weave rather than shining directly down. It works with a Triac dimmer, and hangs from a 60mm ceiling plate with a maximum drop of 2000mm, so it can be set high enough to clear a table or seating below. Metal surfaces are coated with cataphoresis and epoxy polyester paint before the fibre is woven over the frame, and the fitting carries an IP54 rating, built for damp and splashing conditions rather than driving rain. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
