The Nans A/02 is a substantial outdoor wall light from Bover's Nans collection, named after Cala Nans, a rugged cove near Cadaqués known for its old lighthouse. Its wide, hand woven drum shade throws light both up and down the wall, giving it real presence after dark.

Three Coastal Colourways

Nans A/02 comes in three woven finishes, each changing the character of the light. Red brings a warm, terracotta toned weave that stands out against pale render or stone. Beige keeps things soft and neutral, blending into whitewashed walls and sun bleached timber. Brown leans darker and more grounded, sitting comfortably against brick, stucco or aged wood.

Where It Works Best

Its size and up and down spread make it a strong choice either side of a front door, along a covered walkway or marking the corner of a terrace. Mounted in pairs it frames an entrance well, and its IP54 rating means it can handle genuine outdoor exposure rather than just a sheltered porch.

Bover began in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover turned a sketch for an architect friend's project into a lighting brand. The company is still based in Spain, working from Cardedeu near Barcelona, and its outdoor pieces like the Nans family are built around hand woven synthetic fibre, while its indoor collections lean on intricate wood lattice work such as the many individually woven beech strips that make up the Dome range. That Mediterranean sensibility runs through everything Bover makes, and since opening a subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012, it has carried that outlook to the US market too.

Is the Nans A/02 weatherproof enough for an exposed exterior wall?
Yes. It carries an IP54 rating, which protects against dust and water splashed from any direction, so it is built for genuine outdoor use rather than a sheltered spot alone.

Can I dim this light?
Yes, it uses Triac dimming, so it will work with a compatible dimmer switch to adjust the warm 2700K light down from its full 1450 lumens.

Do I need an electrician to fit it?
As a Class I fitting it needs a proper earthed connection, so Moonlight Design recommends having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
