The Garota S/01 Small is the compact size in Bover's Garota family, a rounded outdoor pendant whose woven shell wraps warm LED light in a soft, tactile glow. The shape takes its cue from a smooth sea shell, and at this smaller scale it suits spaces where a full sized outdoor pendant would feel too heavy.

Two Finishes: Graphite Brown and Natural White

Graphite Brown is a dark, weathered tone that recedes quietly against greenery, stone and aged timber. Natural White is pale and clean, closer to bleached driftwood or white painted woodwork, and reflects more light during the day. Both are woven from the same weather resistant synthetic fibre over an aluminium and stainless steel frame, so the choice comes down to which tone suits the space rather than any difference in build.

How It Works

An integrated LED sits inside the woven shell, rated at 8.4W and 1122 lumens with a warm 2700K colour temperature and a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering. Light diffuses through the weave and the UV resistant polyethylene globe protecting the light source, so it glows softly and evenly rather than throwing a single bright point. The pendant drop is adjustable, so it can be set to suit the height of a porch, pergola or covered terrace, and it's supplied with a Triac dimming driver for adjustable brightness. Rated IP66, it's built to stay outside through rain and damp garden conditions.

At just 160mm tall and 270mm across, the Garota S/01 Small suits lower ceilinged spaces where a larger outdoor pendant would dominate, such as a covered porch, a pergola beam or a compact terrace roof. Bover started in Barcelona in 1996, when a sketch Joana Bover drew for an architect friend grew into the idea for a lighting company. Spain has stayed home ever since, with design and production still based in Cardedeu, near Barcelona. Outdoors, the brand is best known for pieces like this one, built up by hand from woven synthetic fibre. Indoors, it takes a different craft further, weaving wood lattice fixtures such as the Dome family from more than 170 individual beech strips. Across both, there's a distinctly Mediterranean feel to the designs. Bover opened a subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012, extending the brand into the US.
