A Smaller, Self Contained Amphora Glow

The Amphora Small takes the same rounded, faceted silhouette as the rest of the Amphora family and scales it down to suit tighter spaces. Its woven surface glows softly from within rather than throwing a hard beam, so light spreads gently around wherever it stands. Unlike the larger Amphora sizes, which take separate bulbs, this size runs on an integrated LED, so there's nothing to choose or change once it's in place.

Two Ways to Wear It

The Amphora Small comes in two woven finishes: a soft light beige for an airy, sandy look, and a deeper rattan brown that blends into planting and timber decking. Both use the same synthetic fibre weave over an aluminium and stainless steel frame, so the choice comes down to which tone suits your garden.

How It Works

Inside the weave sits a UV resistant polyethylene globe that diffuses an integrated LED (8W, 635 lumens, 2700K warm white, CRI 90), so the glow spreads evenly through the lantern instead of shining from one point. The metal frame is coated with cataphoresis and epoxy polyester paint before the fibre is woven over it, and the whole fixture carries an IP66 rating, Class II electrics, and a 3 pin plug fitted as standard. At 470mm tall and 310mm in diameter, its compact scale suits a single spot or a small grouping of two or three.

Where It Works Best

Its size and soft glow suit patios, terraces and garden beds where you want ambient light rather than a strong beam, standing beside steps, along a border, or grouped near seating. Being smaller than the rest of the Amphora range, it also works well in courtyards and smaller outdoor corners where a larger floor lamp wouldn't fit.

Made By Bover

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover sketched a lighting idea for an architect friend's project and turned it into a company. Design and production still happen in Spain, from a base in Cardedeu near Barcelona, with a Mediterranean sensibility running through the range. Outdoor pieces like the Amphora are hand woven from synthetic fibre, while the brand's indoor Dome family is built instead from over 170 individually woven beech strips. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
