The Amphora 03 XL takes Bover's rounded, faceted vessel shape and scales it right up, standing 1370mm tall and 890mm across. Left outside through rain, frost or full sun, it's built to hold its shape and colour for years rather than months, glowing softly from within rather than throwing a hard beam of light.

Two Ways to Wear It

The Amphora 03 XL comes in two woven finishes. Light Beige gives a softer, sandy look that works well against paler stone or decking. Rattan Brown is a deeper, more natural tone that sits comfortably among planting. Both use the same synthetic fibre weave over an aluminium and stainless steel frame, so the choice really comes down to which tone suits your outdoor space.

How It Works

An integrated LED sits inside the weave, rated at 24.7W and 3000 lumens in a warm 2700K white with a CRI of 90, so colours and textures around it read true. The light diffuses through the fibre weave rather than shining from one point, giving an even, ambient glow rather than a hard beam. It's available with either a standard non dimming driver or a Triac dimming driver, chosen at the point of purchase, and the whole fixture is Class I rated with a 3 pin plug fitted as standard.

Where It Works Best

Its scale suits larger patios, terraces and garden areas where you want a genuine focal point rather than background light, standing among planting, along decking, or beside outdoor seating. The XL size also works well in hospitality settings such as restaurant terraces and hotel gardens.

Made By Bover

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996 by Joana Bover, starting out as a sketch for an architect friend's project. The brand still designs and produces its lighting in Spain, headquartered in Cardedeu near Barcelona, with a Mediterranean sensibility that runs through hand woven synthetic fibre outdoor pieces like the Amphora and intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures such as the Dome family. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
