A Larger Woven Lantern for the Garden

The Amphora 02 Large carries the same rounded, faceted silhouette as the rest of the Amphora family, scaled up to stand as a genuine presence rather than an accent piece. At 1230mm tall it glows softly from within rather than casting a hard beam, and it's built to hold its shape and colour outside through rain, frost and full sun for years rather than months.

Two Ways to Wear It

The Amphora 02 Large comes in two woven finishes: a light beige weave that reads soft and sandy against paving or stone, and a deeper rattan brown that sits more naturally among planting and foliage. Both use the same synthetic fibre weave over an aluminium and stainless steel frame, so the choice really comes down to which tone suits the space around it.

How It Works

The Amphora 02 Large is built with an integrated LED rather than a separate bulb. It runs at 24.7W and produces 3000 lumens of 2700K warm white light, with a CRI of 90 so colours nearby stay true rather than washed out. It's available with a Triac dimming driver for adjustable light levels, or a non dimming driver for a fixed level of light. Inside the weave, a UV resistant polyethylene globe spreads that light evenly through the lantern rather than glaring from one point, and the metal frame is coated with cataphoresis and epoxy polyester paint before the fibre is woven over it. It carries an IP66 rating, Class I electrics, and is supplied with a 3 pin plug.

Where It Works Best

Its scale suits larger patios, terraces and garden beds where you want a genuine focal point rather than a supporting accent, standing alone beside a seating area or grouped with smaller Amphora sizes along a path or terrace edge.

Made By Bover

Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996 by Joana Bover, who first sketched the idea for an architect friend's project. The brand still designs and produces its lighting in Spain, headquartered in Cardedeu near Barcelona, and carries a Mediterranean design sensibility across its range, from hand woven synthetic fibre outdoor pieces like the Amphora to the intricate wood lattice indoor fixtures it's equally known for. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.
