The Walton single light pendant is a large ceiling fitting built around a simple idea: let the glass do the talking. A single exposed bulb sits inside a clear glass shade, held by a slim metal frame, so the light itself becomes part of the room rather than something hidden away behind a diffuser. It suits anyone who wants a pendant with a bit of presence over a table or in a stairwell, without it feeling heavy or fussy.

Antique brass and clear glass finish

This version pairs an antique brass frame with a clear glass shade, so the metalwork reads warm rather than cold, while the glass stays completely transparent, showing off the bulb rather than softening it. The mix works well against darker walls or exposed brick, but is easy going enough to sit comfortably in a more traditional scheme too. As with any hand finished metal, expect a small amount of natural variation from one fitting to the next, that is part of the character rather than a flaw.

How it works

The Walton takes a single 10W LED bulb with an E27 fitting, which is not supplied, so you will need to add your own on installation. It is dimmable, provided you fit dimmable bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch. The drop is adjustable, running from around 57cm down to 167.5cm, which gives you some flexibility over how low it hangs, and the ceiling rose measures roughly 10cm across. This is a mains wired fitting rated Class I, so it needs to be earthed correctly, and we would always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than tackling the wiring yourself.

Where it works best

Because it is rated IP20, the Walton is designed for dry indoor spaces rather than anywhere damp. Think living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, anywhere you want a single, well defined pendant rather than a cluster of lights. It works nicely as a single statement piece over a dining table, a kitchen island, or in a hallway or stairwell where you want something with a bit of scale.
