Utopia Walton Medium Ceiling Pendant - Antique Brass & Clear Glass

The Walton is a single light ceiling pendant built around a rounded glass shade held in a slim metal frame, giving it a look that sits somewhere between classic and understated. The shade measures 31cm across, and the flex is adjustable, so you can set the drop anywhere between roughly 41cm and 151cm depending on your ceiling height and where you want the light to sit.

This antique brass and clear glass finish

Here the frame is finished in antique brass, a warm, slightly aged metal tone that works well against darker walls, timber furniture or other brass fittings in the room. It is paired with a clear glass shade, which keeps the light open and unfussy rather than heavy or ornate. As with any hand finished metalwork, expect very slight variation from piece to piece rather than a perfectly uniform surface.

How the Walton pendant works

The pendant takes a single 10W LED bulb with an E27 fitting, which is not supplied, so you can choose a bulb with the warmth and brightness you prefer. It is dimmable, provided you fit dimmable bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. It's wired to Class I, meaning it requires a proper earth connection, and as with any mains wired ceiling fitting, it should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than fitted as a DIY job.

Where it works best

Being rated IP20, the Walton is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or outdoor spaces. It suits living rooms and bedrooms as a central or accent light, works nicely in pairs or rows over a kitchen island or dining table, and is equally at home in a hallway where you want something a little more characterful than a standard flush fitting.
