Utopia Twist Linear Pendant - Brushed Gold Plate & Clear Glass

This linear pendant takes the classic hoop silhouette and gives it a twist, quite literally. A run of clear glass rods spirals along the length of the fitting, catching and scattering light from the LED source hidden inside, while the frame is finished in a warm, brushed gold. It reads as sculptural rather than purely functional, making it as much a piece to look at as a light to switch on.

The brushed gold and clear glass finish

The frame is built from steel and aluminium alloy, plated in a brushed gold that has a soft, low key sheen rather than a high polish, so it won't dominate a room the way a shinier metal might. Around it, the clear glass rods twist gently along the length of the pendant, adding texture and letting light spill out in gentle points rather than one flat glow. Because the glass is finished and shaped by hand, expect small, natural variations from rod to rod rather than machine perfect uniformity, part of what gives it character.

How the pendant works

The light source is a 47W integrated LED, producing around 1950 lumens at a warm 3000K colour temperature, so there's no separate bulb to buy or replace over time. It's dimmable, but only when paired with a trailing edge dimmer switch, which is sold separately and worth checking before you commit to a dimming setup. The cable runs to 150cm and the drop is adjustable between roughly 35cm and 165cm, so an electrician can set the finished height to suit your ceiling and the table or surface below. This is a mains wired fitting, so installation should be carried out by a registered NICEIC electrician. At around 3.5kg, it's also worth checking that your ceiling fixing point is solid enough to take the weight before it goes up.

Where this pendant works best

Its horizontal, linear shape makes it a natural fit above a kitchen island, a dining table, or a run of worktop, anywhere you want a single strong light line rather than a cluster of separate pendants. It suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms and hallways equally well, wherever a decorative statement piece can also do the job of the main light.
