Utopia Swirl Single Pendant - Bronze Patina With Clear Glass

The Utopia Swirl Single Pendant is a single light ceiling fitting built around a sculptural, swirling steel frame that wraps loosely around a clear glass diffuser. It's a striking option if you want a ceiling light that reads as a piece of sculpture as much as a source of light, casting a soft pool of glow through the glass while the metal frame catches the light around it.

The bronze patina finish

This version is finished in a bronze patina over the steel frame, paired with clear glass. Patina finishes are applied by hand, so expect some gentle variation in tone and texture from one pendant to the next, which is part of the appeal rather than a flaw. The warm, slightly weathered bronze tone sits well against wood, brass hardware and warmer, earthy colour schemes, and works equally well as a single statement fitting or grouped in twos or threes over a run of worktop.

How the Utopia Swirl pendant works

It takes a single 10W LED bulb with an E27 fitting, which is not included so you'll need to add your own. If you fit a dimmable bulb, the pendant can be used on a dimmer circuit; with a standard bulb it will simply switch on and off. The pendant head measures 19.5cm in diameter, and the drop is adjustable from around 45cm up to 152.5cm, so it can be set for anything from a low hang over a table to a higher position in a taller room. As with any mains wired ceiling light, we'd recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and since it weighs around 2kg, it's worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take that weight before hanging it.

Where it works best

As a single pendant it suits spots where you want one clear focal point of light rather than an even spread, think a kitchen island, above a dining table, over a console in a hallway, or as a bedside or living room accent. It's equally at home in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways.
