This nine light pendant chandelier builds height and presence into a room through tiers of decorative metalwork hung with discs of glass, so it catches the light from every angle rather than sitting as a single flat fixture overhead. It is designed as a proper centrepiece, the kind of ceiling light you plan a room around rather than add as an afterthought.
Antique gold paint with white and clear glass
The frame is finished in an antique gold paint, applied to steel tiers that step outward as they rise, and it is paired with white and clear glass discs that soften and scatter the light thrown by each bulb. Because the finish is applied by hand, expect gentle variation from piece to piece rather than a perfectly uniform tone, which is part of what gives it a warmer, less mass produced look.
How this pendant chandelier works
It takes nine E14 candle bulbs, each rated up to 6W, and bulbs are not supplied so you will need to source these separately to suit the look and warmth you want. The fitting is dimmable, provided you fit dimmable bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. It is built to Class I electrical standards, and the drop is adjustable from around 68cm up to 212.5cm, with a 150cm cable, a 63.5cm diameter across the tiers, and a decorative shade height of about 40cm, so there is real flexibility for fitting it to different ceiling heights. As with any mains wired light, we recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician. At around 15kg, it is also worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take the weight before you hang it.
Where it works best
Its scale and the way the glass discs catch light make it a natural fit for living rooms and dining rooms where it can hang above a table or seating area as a focal point, and it works equally well in a bedroom or a generous hallway where there is enough headroom to let the tiers breathe. This is an IP20 rated fitting, so it is intended for dry indoor rooms rather than anywhere damp or steamy.
