A sculptural pendant that spirals around a single hoop

This is a large scale pendant light built around one continuous ribbon of material that winds its way around a wide circular hoop, so the whole fitting reads as one flowing shape rather than a cluster of separate arms. At 116cm across, it has real presence, and because the light comes from an integrated LED strip running the length of the ribbon, the glow follows that same spiral line rather than sitting in a single bulb or shade.

This gold finish

The frame is made from steel and aluminium with a silicone diffuser running along the ribbon, finished in gold. As with any hand finished metal piece, expect gentle variation in tone from one fitting to the next, which is part of the character rather than a flaw. The warm metallic finish sits nicely against timber furniture, dark walls, or a simple white ceiling, and works equally well as the centrepiece of a more traditional room or a modern open plan space.

How it works

The LED is integrated into the fitting itself, rated at 131W and putting out around 9000 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. It can be dimmed, but only when paired with a trailing edge dimmer switch, so check your switch is compatible before installing if you want that flexibility. The fitting is rated Class II, and the drop is adjustable from 70cm up to 186cm, giving you room to set the height to suit your ceiling and the space beneath it. Because this is a mains wired fitting, we always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician. At around 4.5kg, it's also worth checking that your ceiling fixing point is solid enough to take the weight before you hang it.

Where it works best

Its scale makes this pendant best suited to rooms with a bit of height and space to let it breathe, think living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens (it works particularly well over an island), bedrooms, or a hallway with a high ceiling where you want a real focal point overhead. As it's rated IP20, it's designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere with moisture in the air.
