The Utopia Overlay is a wall mounted light built from panels of different sizes, set slightly apart so the light diffuses softly between them rather than shining out as a single flat glow. It holds two lamps behind those panels, giving a gentle, layered spread of light that works as well for a quiet corner as it does for a hallway or dining space you want to feel warmer in the evening.

The antique gold finish

This version is made from steel and finished in a warm gold tone, so it reads more like an antique brass than a bright polished metal. It sits comfortably against darker paint colours and warm woods, and pairs easily with other aged brass or gold details already in the room, whether that is door furniture, a mirror frame or other lighting nearby.

How it works

The fitting takes two G9 LED bulbs, each 3W, and these are not included so you can choose the exact colour temperature and brightness you prefer. It is dimmable, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. As with any mains wired fitting, installation should be carried out by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where it works best

Being rated IP20, this light is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than anywhere damp, so it suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways well. Use it as a pair either side of a bed or mirror, or as a single fitting to soften a landing or hallway wall.
