Utopia Matrix Single Wall Light - Satin Brass Plate with Clear & Frosted Glass

The Utopia Matrix Single Wall Light is a single arm wall light finished in satin brass, combined with panels of clear and frosted glass. Built from steel and glass, it has enough weight to feel like a considered fixture rather than a token wall light, while the frosted sections of glass help take the edge off the bulb itself so you get a wash of light rather than a hard point of glare.

The satin brass and glass finish

This version pairs a satin brass plate with a mix of clear and frosted glass panels. A satin finish is brushed rather than polished to a mirror shine, so expect a warmer, lower key metal tone that sits comfortably against most wall colours, tiles or wallpaper without fighting for attention. As with any satin metal finish, very slight variation from piece to piece is normal rather than a fault.

How this wall light works

This is a single light wall fitting, taking one G9 bulb rated at 3W (SMD), which is not supplied, so you will need to add a suitable bulb before fitting. It can be dimmed, but only if you fit a dimmable G9 bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch. Electrically it is rated Class II, meaning it is double insulated and does not rely on a separate earth connection. It measures 31.3cm in height and 9cm in width, projecting 11.4cm from the wall, and weighs 0.5kg, so it is a fairly slim, light fitting rather than a bulky one. As this is a mains wired fitting, we would always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where this wall light works best

With an IP20 rating, this fitting is intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere it could get splashed. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens and hallways well, particularly where you want a soft wash of light from the wall rather than a strong, direct beam, for example either side of a mirror or bed, or spaced along a hallway or landing.
