Utopia Matrix Round 9 Light Ceiling Semi Flush - Satin Brass & Glass

The Matrix Round is a semi flush ceiling light built around a wide circular frame of nine lights, giving a strong, architectural presence without hanging too low from the ceiling. Its round silhouette and repeated glass shades give it a graphic, mid-century feel that works well as a central feature over a dining table or in a living room with generous ceiling height.

The satin brass and glass finish

This version pairs a steel frame finished in brass with clear and frosted glass shades around each light point, so the fitting reads as warm and metallic from a distance but softens once the bulbs are on. Steel and glass is a hard wearing combination that's easy to keep dust free with an occasional wipe, and the brass tone works comfortably with warm neutrals, dark paint colours or more traditional furniture.

How the Matrix Round works

It's designed to take 9 x 3W LED G9 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you'll want to have these ready before installation. The fitting is dimmable, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. It's rated Class II, meaning it has double insulation and does not require an earth connection. Because this is a mains wired ceiling fitting, we'd always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician. At 2.7kg, it's also worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take the weight before you hang it.

Where it works best

With an IP20 rating, the Matrix Round is intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere with direct moisture exposure. Its wide, adjustable profile (a 92cm diameter with a drop that adjusts between 51cm and 68.5cm) suits rooms with the ceiling height to spare, making it a natural fit for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms or a statement piece in a hallway.
