A sculptural semi flush pendant for open plan rooms
The Utopia Matrix is a six light semi flush pendant built around a cluster of straight, tube like arms that sit close to the ceiling rather than hanging low on a long drop. That makes it a good option for rooms where you want a strong lighting feature but don't have the ceiling height for a full pendant. The overall effect is architectural and a little sculptural, with each arm reading as a distinct line rather than blending into a single shade.
This satin brass finish
This version is finished in satin brass over a steel and glass build. The metal gives the fitting its structure and the warm brass tone, while glass is used across the arms to soften and diffuse the light rather than leaving it as a bare, exposed bulb look. As with any hand finished metal fitting, expect some gentle variation from piece to piece rather than a perfectly uniform, machine made surface. Satin brass tends to sit well against warmer neutrals, wood tones, and other brass or brushed metal hardware in the room.
How it works
The fitting takes 6 x 3W LED G9 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you'll need to add your own before it's ready to use. It can be used with a dimmer switch, but only if you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. As with any mains wired ceiling light, we'd recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician. The fitting weighs around 2.1kg, so it's worth checking that your ceiling fixing point is sound enough to take the weight before installation.
Where it works best
Being a semi flush design, this suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways where you want a ceiling light that doesn't intrude too far into the room. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it's designed for dry indoor spaces rather than anywhere that gets steam or splashes, so it isn't intended for use in a bathroom.
