This ring pendant brings six lights together in a single, circular frame, hung on an adjustable cable so the whole fitting can be set at whatever height suits your ceiling and the table or island below. Rather than one central shade, six individual glass shades are spaced evenly around a slim ring, casting light both outward and down for a soft, even spread across a room rather than one hard point of glare.
Satin brass and gloss white glass
The ring itself is finished in satin brass plate, a warm, slightly muted metal tone that works equally well against light or dark walls. Each of the six shades is made from gloss white glass, giving a clean, rounded silhouette that diffuses the bulb rather than showing it directly. Steel and glass make up the main structure, so there's a reassuring weight to the piece, around 2.8kg complete, which is worth keeping in mind when planning how it will be hung.
How this pendant light works
It takes six G9 bulbs, each rated to 3W, though bulbs themselves aren't included so you can choose your own colour temperature and brightness. It's dimmable, provided dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted along with a compatible dimmer switch, since bulbs that aren't dimmable won't allow this. The fitting is wired to Class II, meaning it's double insulated, and the drop is adjustable from around 30cm up to 162cm on a 150cm cable, with the ring itself measuring 59.5cm across, so it can be set to suit rooms with higher or lower ceilings. As with any mains wired light, installation by a registered NICEIC electrician is recommended, and because this isn't a lightweight fitting, it's worth checking that the ceiling fixing point can comfortably take the weight before it goes up.
Where this pendant light works best
With an IP20 rating, this is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere damp. The ring shape and spread of six lights make it a natural choice above a dining table, in a living room, bedroom or hallway, or hung above a kitchen island where a wide, even spread of light is more useful than a single downlight.
